Waste Management Infrastructure

Leighton Asia has been awarded the Sha Tin Transfer Station Third Follow-On Contract to refurbish and upgrade one of the city’s key waste management facilities.

The project will be delivered in a joint venture with Canvest Environmental Protection Group Company Limited, a subsidiary of Grandblue Environment Co., Ltd., for the Environmental Protection Department of the Government.

The scope, which will be delivered for Leighton Asia by Pekko Engineers, its mechanical and electrical arm, includes operation and maintenance of the facility, refurbishment and upgrading of waste-handling systems and associated plant, and improvements to wastewater treatment, odour control, energy efficiency and site operations, including the integration of smart monitoring and safety systems.
