Black Point Power Station

Located in Hong Kong’s New Territories, Black Point is one of the world’s largest gas-fired combined cycle power stations. 

Works included deep shafts, pipe jacking, and a new cooling water intake/discharge system with a pumping station, turbine hall, and submarine culverts. Pipejacking beneath live cooling pipes and constructing a 40 m x 80 m cofferdam were key challenges. 

Careful planning and experienced supervision ensured power generation remained uninterrupted throughout excavation, marine works, and the installation of 700 m of cooling pipelines.
