Sludge Treatment Facility
The incineration facility was the largest of its kind ever built in Hong Kong, processing up to 2,000 tonnes of sewage sludge daily.
It generates 14MW of electricity via steam turbines, recycles wastewater, and operates with flue gas treatment and desalination systems.
The facility features wave-inspired architecture and an environmental education centre. Despite its remote location, logistical challenges were managed through a West Kowloon design office and global procurement of specialised process equipment.
