Leighton Asia nurtures future leaders through the CIMIC Group Graduate Program that offers technical training, hands-on project experience, and a workplace focused on growth.
Two recently graduated electrical engineers – Marylene Alcantara and Clarence Fabricante – are making strides in the world of power systems, project management, and field engineering.
They are currently working on a data centre project in the Philippines and playing vital roles in building critical infrastructure for today's digital era. Their on-site involvement brings fresh insights, meticulous attention to detail, and a dedication to quality.
Through the guidance of experienced mentors, Marylene and Clarence are gaining and showcasing valuable skills from technical design to execution.
"We might be novices in this field, but we’re ready to learn, and eager to make a lasting impact," says Marylene.
Gary Hancock, Leighton Asia’s Senior Commissioning Manager, says leadership is a key ingredient to ensure the success of the next generation of engineers.
“Both Marylene and Clarence have now moved into challenging roles as part of the site commissioning team," he says. "Both have shown great interest and aptitude to learn and engage in all activities, be it tracking, reporting, supervising or practical testing. They have not only integrated into the team, but they have also become a huge part that drives it.”
