Pekko Engineers, mechanical and electrical engineering arm of Leighton Asia Hong Kong business, proudly supported the introduction of Roborigger, a remote crane load control and orientation technology, to Hong Kong in 2022.
Used on the Boardwalk Underneath Island Eastern Corridor Project, Roborigger enhanced lifting operations for the construction project. Today, Roborigger has grown in use and is now available through The Construction Innovation and Technology Fund (CITF) provided by the Construction Industry Council in Hong Kong.
How does Roborigger enhance lifting operations?
-
Safety - The remote control system removes workers from the lifting danger zone and ensures their safety in comparison to using traditional taglines.
-
Productivity - The load is able to be controlled throughout the full lifting cycle and in tough weather conditions, increasing the efficiency of lifting operations and reducing the time required for each lift.
-
Resources – The simple control of the loads optimises the required number of workers for the task.
-
Data Analytics – As an advanced technology IoT device, Roborigger provides valuable lifting data and records all lifting information, supporting improved understanding and better decision making.
To support the global construction industry’s goals for achieving safe productivity, Pekko Engineers is proud to partner with Roborigger to provide this innovative technology solution to the market.
