In preparation for the construction of North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), our Philippines team has started the track recovery works in the closed portion of Philippine National Railways (PNR).
The work involves the dismantling, removal, recovery, and hauling of the existing tracks to PNR’s stockyard. Our project team has started to install temporary fences along the right-of-way, removing rail clips, as well as cutting rails.
This work is important before works for viaducts, stations, and other structures can commence.
Leighton Asia, in joint venture with First Balfour, secured two NSCR civil works packages which were awarded in 2023. Upon completion, this project will ease road congestion around Manila, enhancing community connectivity.
