The successful installation of the first span of the boardwalk deck marks a significant milestone for the Boardwalk Underneath Island Eastern Corridor (the Boardwalk) project connecting Fortress Hill and Quarry Bay.

With an aim to embrace the Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) technology, the span was manufactured in Zhongshan and then transported by barge to Hong Kong for installation on site by the IEC Boardwalk Joint Venture.

Upon completion, the Boardwalk will provide a promenade of approximately 2.2km along Hong Kong’s famous and stunning harbourfront for public enjoyment.
